Fontera has signed a licensing deal for its Radio TXT platform in Pakistan with global telecoms player Digitania. Digitania is partly owned by Telenor, a Norwegian owned mobile communications company with mobile operations in 12 different countries, a staff of over 20 000 and market capitalization of approximately US$14 Billion. In terms of the deal, Fontera has licensed its Radio TXT back end to Digitania for roll out in Pakistan over the next few weeks with extension to some of the company’s other regions in the pipeline. “We are extremely pleased with this deal,” remarked Fontera Marketing Director Simon Leps, “Not only is Pakistan itself a massive developing market, but the deal links us to one of Eastern Europe’s biggest WASP’s with the prospect of a large number of future deals. We are looking forward to implementing the deal and taking this partnership forward.” This is the latest in a series of significant licensing deals which have seen Fontera licensing its technology in The USA, Europe and now the east. “This is a strong indication of the confidence that people have in our product,” continued Leps, “”Our research and development team in Cape Town are proving that they are among the best in the world and that we can compete on any level.” |
