Campaign: Checkers Xmas 2004 and Wine Promotions
Requirements:
For their 2004 Xmas campaign the nationwide supermarket chain Checkers “bought out” channel 74 on DSTV giving people entertaining tips for the Xmas season and distributed a wine insert in all the major newspapers during December. Checkers wanted to run SMS based campaigns in conjunction with both promotions in order to build a customer database.
Fontera Solution:
Fontera set up parallel campaigns on the same short code where customers were asked a question pertaining to either the wine insert or an entertaining tip. Answers were sent in via SMS.
Conclusion:
The response proved the effectiveness of the channel sponsorship and the insert with a great response for both.
