Customer: Hunters Cider
Campaign: Fridge Ringtone Game

Requirements:
Hunters and their agencies decided it was time for something different when the new website was launched towards the end of 2005. An innovative solution was proposed by Gloo, the digital agency.

Fontera Solution:
Fontera developed a new system that created ringtones on the fly allowing users to make their own ringtone on the site and then have it delivered to their phone in the correct format. Fontera also used their proprietary video technology to allow users to download the TV commercials directly to their phone from the site.

Conclusion:
The new website was a huge hit and users really enjoyed making their own ringtones.

Campaign: Hunters Beach Tour 2004

Requirements:
Hunters, the number one Cider brand in SA, had sponsored the 5FM, Good Hope FM 2004 Summer Tour and had a “cooler box” at each beach event where visitors over 18 could enjoy some time in an air conditioned area on the beach while sipping Hunters. They wanted to see the correlation between sponsored events during the day and their promotions in bars and clubs at night.

Fontera Solution:
Fontera began by building a database for Hunters by taking demographic details of all the people waiting to go into the cooler box. Once the details were in, messages were sent to all the visitors inviting them to an event that night where they would receive free Hunters. SMS barcodes were sent to visitors whose phones could accept them and normal messages with numbered codes were sent to visitors whose phones could not accept Picture Messages. As each visitor arrived at the event that night, their phone was scanned and they were given a complementary Hunters.

Conclusion:
The response from both Hunters and their visitors was great and more campaigns using SMS barcodes have been planned.
